Advent: Writing as a Spiritual Practice

Come and gather in the sanctuary to write as an act of holy gratitude and a way to open yourself to the season of Advent. We will explore the lectionary texts for Year A and be offered the chance to write alongside others and share some thoughts in a small group setting.  We hope this way of exploring the texts together will be a spiritual and imaginative practice that will encourage many to submit their writing for our annual Advent Devotional Guide.

  • We’ll start off with a family-friendly Trunk or Treat at 5 PM. All are invited to dress up in a costume, park your vehicle in the preschool area, decorate your trunk, and bring a bag of candy/trinkets/treats to distribute. Come as early as you need to be ready for trunks open at 5. Trunks will be judged for the MOST CREATIVE, MOST ATTENTION TO DETAIL, & CUTEST COSTUMES. Then we’ll move on to dinner, where we’ll have an award-winning BBQ feast prepared by our own Eric England! We’ll end the evening with an Outdoor Movie, Encanto, at sundown. Bring chairs and blankets. This event is free and open to ALL ages!
