Robert Montgomery came back to Tennessee with his wife Emma in 2007 after 30 years as a pastor in Illinois, Indiana and Alabama. He and Emma are living on the family farm where he started out and where sheep have been a part of the place for nearly a century. It was also a homecoming for Emma whose family is centered in the county next door. They have 2 sons, one of whom is married with 2 kids and living in the Netherlands, and the other is also married with 2 kids living in Cleveland, Ohio.
Since coming back to Tennessee, Robert has had many connections to First Presbyterian of Franklin, starting with his joining the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee at the presbytery meeting of February, 2008, held right here at FPC Franklin.
In November, 2026, Robert came to FPC as a bridge minister to support the staff and congregation as the PNC continues the search and call for the next installed pastor of our church.
