Responding to God's grace

through worship, study, and service.

It all begins with worship. We gather at 10:15 AM each Sunday in the Sanctuary and online to glorify God. Worship is led by our pastors, liturgists, music leaders, and acolytes as we all participate in worshiping God together. Rooted in the Reformed Tradition, we gather as the body of Christ to join our hearts and minds in worship.

Beginning in third grade and extending through adulthood, you have the opportunity to serve as worship leaders through our Acolyte program. Training is provided throughout the year. Please contact our coordinator, Sue Mahurin, if your student is interested.
The Sacrament of Baptism is one of two sacraments in the PC(USA). Baptism is the sign and seal of our bond and unity with Jesus Christ. It is another sign of God's covenant. Baptism is at once God's gift of grace, God's means of grace, and God's call to respond to that grace. Through baptism, Jesus Christ calls us to repentance, faithfulness, and discipleship. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated when one of God's children of any age desires to be baptized. If you would like to be baptized, reach out to one of the pastors.
Children are an important part of our faith community and are always welcome in worship. Each week prior to the sermon, we have a Time with the Young Church in which all children are invited to participate. Following this, children who are four, five, or in kindergarten have the option of attending Children's Worship. Our nursery is open to infants through 3 year-olds is located downstairs in Room 111.
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and on special occasions such as World Communion Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve in addition to our midweek Lenten services. It is one of two sacraments in the PC(USA).

We believe The Lord's Supper to be the sign and seal of our communion with the crucified and risen Lord. The Lord's Supper, where we receive the Bread of Life and Cup of Salvation, represents God's gracious invitation to an everlasting covenant. It also reflects our calling to feed others as we have been fed, and offers a foretaste of that heavenly banquet when God will wipe away every tear and swallow up death forever. The Lord's Supper is God's gift of grace and also God's call to respond to that grace. It sustains us and sends us. As this is the Lord's Table, all who trust in him are welcome to join in the feast which Christ has prepared.

The Hospitality Ministry organizes teams of ushers and greeters for worship. Each team serves once a month. (One team serves the 1st Sunday of the month, another the 2nd Sunday and so on.) Whether you are a new or long-standing member, single or have a large family, all are welcome to serve in this ministry. It is a great way for newer members to meet more members of our congregation. If you are interested in helping us provide hospitality in this important way, please contact Leanne Hoeffler.
Liturgists are members who lead worship alongside the pastors. They serve on a rotating basis. To learn more about responding to God's grace in this way, contact Catherine Olson.
The Livestream and Audio Team serves behind the scenes to make sure all goes smoothly with online worship and the audio in the sanctuary. Contact Jerry Houston if you would like to learn more about serving in this way.
Music can move us in ways we can't convey in words. Congregational singing is an important part of worship. Hymns and worship music are led by organ and piano. Other instruments including bagpipes, guitar, woodwind instruments, brass, and timpani. Learn more about our Music & Arts Ministry.

The worship flowers remind us of the beauty of God's creation as we worship God together each week. The flowers are then rearranged into smaller vases and delivered to members as a reminder of God's love and the love of their church family. All are welcome to donate the worship flowers in honor or in memory of someone by donating $100. Sign up today.

Funerals

and our MEmorial garden

We refer to a Christian funeral as a Service of Witness to the Resurrection. In this service, we give thanks and praise to God for the gift of life, seek God's help in time of need, witness to the hope of the gospel anchored in the resurrection of Christ, remember the life of the deceased, and offer support and comfort to the grieving. FPC Franklin has a Memorial Garden for those who wish for their final resting place to be on the church grounds. Contact Catherine Olson with any questions.
